Late Saturday on Queen Street, Toronto

8x10 oil on canvas
I used a similar palette as the previous post to suggest the retreating sun on a crisp sunny fall day.
This streetcar heads west on Queen Street on a late Saturday afternoon.

You did a wonderful job with the light on this one. I like the subtle reflections on the street, too. Well done!

This painting does have the feel of autumn. I love the bits of light in the shadows. Outstanding, Catherine!

Perfect feeling of that late day sun, and of heading home after a day of work. I really love the atmosphere of this one.

Another lively city scene....is there also a sad note that I sometimes detect in these late afternoon scenes. Those tired people passing through, on their way to where HOME waits.....

Another beautiful example of Catherine doing what she does best. By picking a unique subject matter (dark urban scenes with a spot of color and good light paths) your work in instantly recognizable. Congratulations, Catherine!
