Suits Head Home, Toronto

8x10 oil on stretched canvas Sold
The black stripes across the granite walkway attracted me to this scene in downtown Toronto. These "suits" added another dimension as they walked through the reflected light finding its way through the tall buildings.

Catherine I really really like the vertical figures, offset and balanced by umbrellas, then of course reflections--and transparent passages in your work. Your compositions are so strong and balanced.Considering your subject matter, it's a good thing you don't reside in Florida or California:-)
*also thanks for your encouraging comments on my blog

Catherine, there is always a rhythm during peak hours as everybody, of course, are heading the same direction, at the same pace and almost in the same type of clothes! You really capture city life very well!

Great composition! It is interesting how the thumbnail says so much. There was a British railway poster artist (unfortunately I can't remember who) who used to design all his posters the size of a postage stamp. He said that they would appear that size to most viewers anyway, so they had to have impact at that scale.

Can I say Catherine that your site is one of my favourite ones to visit. Your prolific work and beautiful colorful scenes keep me coming back and back. Keep up the good work. Kay
