8x10 oil on canvas
I needed a break from large, rainy, and complicated and this proved to be just what I needed. I took this photo the other day in Toronto. Its still a little early for planting, but a few markets had pansies and a few other items for sale. Early afternoon isn't the best time for photos, but there was a slight overcast haze that helped the atmosphere.
This is Bloor Street West in Toronto.
Nice one Catherine. Great comp and I like how you handled the background people!
So it doesn't always rain in Toronto ;) Like this painting a lot, it's nice to take a break sometimes and change direction for a while.
It's beautiful, charming, wonderful composition, great light.....I also love the abstract look to the background.
yup, as always, a wonderful atmosphere. the haze makes it look like early morning to me.
Love yor cityscapes! Just beautiful handling of subject and paint.
I love this piece, Catherine. Great composition.
I like this, the highlights on the market and those desaturated figures and trees in the background. My eyes seem to cover every square inch. It looks like spring, too.
Very nice! A welcome change from your usual theme! Thank you very much for your lovely comment on my blog :)
Lovely. It made me realize what beauty there is in all those fruit markets.
