Snowy Saturday in Chinatown

12 x 12 oil on board
I took this photo last January and  it was a very blustery blizzardy day, but yet Chinatown on Spadina was in full swing. I loved the fact that the umbrellas were out, covered in new snow. Salt on the sidewalks melts the snow, creating soft reflections.

Your compositions are great. This is an excellent example. I love the strong value contrast.

This is wonderful CJ. I just love the way you chronicle urban Canadian life.

CJ, your work continues to grow and your subject matter is incredible. As I spent the last few minutes looking through your blog, this painting just jumped out at me. Now that I am commenting, I see I have been here before. I cannot put my finger on it, but obviously this one really speaks to me. Maybe it's the umbrellas.

As always, love you work!!!
