Just a Walkin' in the Rain, Yonge Street Toronto

20x16 Oil on Canvas
This was a different composition, but I wanted to try it anyway. Not being sure whether it would turn out ok, I didn't want to spend too much time on it and tried to stay loose and finish it in one go.

Really like all of the angles, verticals and horizontals in this. All of those terrific blues and purples give it the feel of a really stormy day. I also like the way you pull the eye in with that one spot of yellow. Nice!

It is raining here, Catherine, which means that your painting gives exactly the right atmosphere. This rain means the beginning of winter here,as the WC is winter rainfall area. I love the blues in your painting, the rhythm of umbrellas and your interestingly textured canvas which strengthens the direction of the rain.Regards from a very wet Cape Town.

Great composition, so unique! This really works, and I happen to love the freshness about it. I hope you try this again!

Parade of the umbrellas. I like the brightness all to one side on this, and the way the brightness and the perspective lead your eye to the end of the street -- and then back again to the unbrellas.
