Snow Plow on King, Dundas

8x10 oil on canvas
This is a painting from last years snow storm. We haven't had any really dramatic storms yet...so we don't have a lot of snow on the ground. I love a good storm...everyone gets to stay home if it arrives at the right time. Down south, if a freak storm hits a city, the city pretty much shuts down. Here, with a forecast of snow, our plows are ready to go, day and night.

Br-r-r-r!! Looks very cold. And yes, if a snow storm came like the one in your painting our grocery shelves would be empty, schools would be closed and we would all be outside building snowmen! :-) Great painting!

Whoa!!! Looks cold Catherine. Snowed a couple of times when I lived in Houston and they freak out too. Grew up in Ohio, so miss a good storm (okey... only once in awhile).

You get that atmosphere so well, couldn't get the feeling any better if you tried, looks and feels like winter! Like the brush strokes too!

Beautiful painting, Catherine. Yes, down south, we shut down. Hoping to avoid a forecasted snowstorm for Monday. I'd rather look at your snow painting.

Great color on the violet sky and the angles of the truck and blade make me feel the whole icy scene

Brrrr... We have gotten about two inches of snow in the last few days - just enough to make it beautiful, but not dangerous to drive. This really captures the cold of Winter, Catherine!

Yes, they pretty much shut down Washington D.C. if there's a dusting of snow.
The winters have been slipping by us here. Oh, we get cold and snow, but the places west, south, and east of Michigan seem to be getting clobbered with annoying (to their point of view) frequency. Here we get a December-January cold snap, some snow, some ice dams, some drudgery, but we are not buried under five foot drifts anymore.

This climate change thing might be a darn good idea. We should see if we could get the government to enforce it!

We don't get to see these often where we live, but this winter is trying to make up for some lost time! Just looking at your painting makes me want to bundle up!

This is a great painting. we had a snow storm today and I was enjoying the way the atmosphere changed lighter, thicker, grays and blues... just like your painting!

Hi Catherine, I keep meaning to tell you: last week I was driving down James St. in Hamilton and it was snowing, and as I was looking out the windshield, the first thing that popped in my head was: "I'm in a Catherine Jeffrey painting!". LOL True! It was all your architecture, and city streets and snow : ))
