After the Market

Hamilton has a Farmer's market downtown that operates year round. This woman heads home in the late afternoon. The fresh snow has been cleared, leaving salty wet streets behind.
Catherine, how do you have so much energy to churn out so many great art works. Do you sell many? I love this scene, you are very good at obtaining distance in your paintings. I am also in love with the sailing boat picture. I think you should enter in to the artist magazine. It caught my eye at once.
This is a magnificent painting in every way. Just astoundingly good. I've given you the Sunshine Award for positive and creative blogging. Your work is an inspiration.
Catherine, It has all been said before, but I must say you are a master of urban scenes. We have all been there and they instantly transport us to another time or place. And then there is the beautiful light that gives us hope for a better day ahead!
Catherine you are one fast * and skilled!) painter. brilliant! btw I know you were interested in the one of a kind show as well as the outdoor summer show in TO. There is an excellent show coming up first week of March 'the artist project' --very high calibre work that I think you would enjoy
Thanks all for your positive comments. I like the fact that you can see the hint of spring coming in the warmer light. Kay, I haven't started selling larger pieces yet because I want to get 15 or 20 paintings that I am really happy with before I start submitting to galleries. I think my energy to produce comes from a desire to keep learning and growing. I think that if I stop painting, I will forget what I have learned. Jan, I will check out that show. Even if it is not something you commit to, you may want to read what I have written about your work! This painting is splendid and once again you have painted a very difficult subject with such assurance!
Great job...as always! Really like the way you've balanced the figure with the sunny light on the building. Love that bright red peeking out everywhere.

Another magical downtown scene, looks like spring coming with that warm yellow light.
I love this urban scene. Great colours, all the cars very accurate but loose .... mmmmmm
I love the color palette. Its the kind of day I would dread, yet its so inviting here in your painting.
