8x10 oil on board
It is challenging to take the looseness, spontaneity, and values from a monochrome study and apply it to a finished piece. I tightened up a little more than I wanted to on this painting, but I think I was able to maintain the proper values.

It is stunning, that red really pops! Of course, I liked the value study too.
You've certainly captured this time of year!
wonderful! i love how the red pops out as well!
Streetcars? Now I really love your city, Catherine! I wish I could see Toronto. Amazing in this painting the impact made by that ribbon of red on the front of the vehicle. It picks out the focal point well and true!I have done 8 small works, then 10 again! 8x8 is all the rage here too
This really worked out well, Catherine. I love the dark shadows and mysterious car shapes along the side of the road. Ahhh, October in the north!
Very nice!! The bright streetcar really pops! Great job.
Wonderful sunlight in this piece but my favorite part is the tiny pieces of light bouncing off the cars. Wonderful painting, Catherine.
Great light (as always)! Love that bright red street car and the way it stands out so clearly next to the shadow of the buildings. That little corner of gold is such a great touch!
I am so sorry I don't get here much. I have a paper for university 4300 words due in next week which I have just about finished. What with work and that.... I love the red tram and the other colors in the painting are brilliant.
