Beautiful colors on the water, and the modeling and shaping of the saicovers is perfect! A nice morning on the docks. It is a real talent to enable your viewers to feel the morning air along the lakeshore!
The light and reflections are excellent, Catherine. I am surprised time and time again that you do not fear darkness in your work. I always think "blue sky" so automatically!!! I also notice that this work is not so small. It is my preferred sort of size. Black/red/blue/white, I love your painting!
hey Catherine, I haven't checked in for awhile--which I kind of like as it allowed me to view a whole new body of work! It is obvious you know your subject and you have translated it beautifully via paint. As other bloggers noted you can feel the water, air and light. I really liked your sailboat juxtaposed against the looming factory background--one could get quite carried away re symbolism in that one! And the presence of the 3 tugs just took my breath away--they look like they were a blast to paint!!
I thought I already commented...guess it didn't go thru. Had to come back by to look at this gorgeous painting again. Such terrific work in the shadows and water reflections. And I love those red and blue sails. Incredible light! Well, I'm all out of superlatives...this one was just too good. :)

I can feel the morning air and hear the gently lapping water in this painting, Catherine. Just lovely.
The light is so beautiful in the morning and you captured it on these sailboats and the water. Very nice!

Gorgeous light! love the restraint used - and the little glitter of sunlight on the water!
The light and play of shadow is so HUGE in everything I paint. So when I see this, I go WOW. BRAVO.

I love the water, and this painting encapsulates all of the reasons why I do...this is a work of shimmering beauty, Catherine.
