The way I see it, this excercise was a HUGE success. You worked the problem, you identified obstacles, you kept going, you learned so much, and most importantly... you got it behind you. And ps - The paintings do not reveal your frustration at all. I like the top one best. The sparkles of light and water on the phone lines, the white car and the direction of the walker - my eye goes happily right into the scene. And so drippy wet... mmmm.
