Toronto Street Car on Dundas

8x8 oil on canvas sold
I would like to thank everyone for their insightful comments on my previous posting. I really enjoyed reading about other artist's color choices. I even heard from two writers who had some great things to say. So again, thank you!
We are back  doing some renovations on our little stone cottage, and so the studio was out of commission for a few days. I thought I would get back into painting with this little picture of Dundas Street in Toronto on a rainy day.
To bid on this painting, you can go to the ebay auction HERE

Certainly no problems with color here! It all shines and works together perfectly. I really like the red with the light of the trolley- excellent focal point

Your rainy day city scapes are always beautiful. This one exceptionally so.
I missed your question about palettes and it's something I've been thinking about as well. I've always used a limited palette of red, blue, yellow (cads and ultramarine). But I'm about to change to Carolyn Anderson's palette. I used it in her workshop and really liked it.
My limited one was great for harmony but harmony is something you have already!

I like Carolyn Anderson's palette and have used it like Shirley. I also liked Richard Schmidt's which is similar. But, I like changing it up a bit so never know what might find its way in. With acrylics I don't add as many colors as they tend not be to blended like my oils. Just my opinion, but I might add that you don't need any advice as your work is absolutely gorgeous.

I just now found your blog via Ramesh in India [interesting world we live in] I love the richness of your Ontario scenes.

Shirley and Anne Marie, thanks for your comments. And thank you for introducing me to Carolyn Anderson. Her work is amazing. I didn't find her palette listed on her website, so it you stop back in again, maybe you could list it for me.

Reno guy...thanks for stopping by and for your positive comments.
