I love the vertical band of highlight down the center, the subtle and not so subtle interplay of verticals and horizontal elements, and then those bits of bright color! it all just works so well.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1072572308301706875.post-82354213545320575322010-06-21T05:08:01.461-04:002010-06-21T05:08:01.461-04:00You can really walk into this one Catherine! Approaching each painting with this method of using a larger brush will help my work a lot. If only I can stick with it and not get into the details so much! I also like the dark horizontal and vertical lines of the buildings facing each other from opposite sides of the street.Gwen Bellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16393643552813213700noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1072572308301706875.post-12253131650968458392010-06-18T02:44:34.300-04:002010-06-18T02:44:34.300-04:00I'm not sure whether my comment got posted so ...I'm not sure whether my comment got posted so here it is again<br />I like this painting! My large brush is an angled shader which gives a flat as well a knife-point edge. And then a #5 round, nothing too small. Like you, I prefer moods before sharp sunlight. The atmosphere in this painting is dramatic and keeps the eye interested.Marie Theronhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04873852756825147600noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1072572308301706875.post-21003849975942425522010-06-17T01:20:45.189-04:002010-06-17T01:20:45.189-04:00Wonderfully atmospheric, Catherine.
